“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” (R. L. Stevenson)
I have always wanted to visit New Zealand. Partly because everyone raves about it; mostly because it’s about as far as one can go from the continental US. I am a traveler who travels for the sake of traveling, the one that complains about uncomfortable airplane seats but secretly revels in the familiarity of the onboard safety announcement that immediately precedes take off.
The plan: three weeks on my own to soak up the North and the South Island in late April / early May 2013 before graduation.
The planning so far: none … no plane tickets, no hotels, no research … just a travel guide given to me by a thoughtful friend on my birthday.
The to-do’s: stop putting up lame excuses and make a whole body + soul commitment to this adventure and the rest will follow. It always does when the heart is revved up.
